There was a festive mood in the maiden international match of Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium as nearly 30,000 cricket crazy fans turned out but Zimbabwe's another brittle batting display dampened the atmosphere.

Dashing Aftab Ahmed made the target look very small with a blistering 58 not out off 69 balls after another confident start from the opening pair of Shahriar Nafees (34 off 39 balls) and Mehrab Hossain (13) who put on 43 runs as Bangladesh romped to 147 for two in 32.2 overs.

Pacer Gary Brent dismissed both the Bangladesh opener in quick succession but man-of-the-match Aftab took the charge to smash four big sixes and three fours during his ninth ODI fifty. Sakib Al Hasan contributed an unbeaten 65-ball 31.
