Concert by finalists of 'Closeup 1-2005'

Unilever, ntv and Gungcheel organised a concert titled Onekta poth periye Closeup1 on August 20 at the Mohakhali Sports Zone auditorium. The venue came alive as last year's 11 Closeup1 finalists came on stage, singing melodies that had won them the hearts of millions throughout the country. They have been touring the country as well as overseas.Nowshad Karim (Brands and development director, Unilever), Enayetur Rahman (managing director, ntv) and Kumar Biswajit (managing director, Gungcheel) spoke on the occasion. They all had similar messages for the upcoming stars: 'While fame comes easily; it takes practice, hard work and dedication to maintain it.' They also mentioned the need of humility and love for the art in the profession. After hours of waiting, Mehrab kicked off the show with the song Adda from a mixed album with the same title. He also sang Bangladesh from the same album. Following that Rumi came on stage and performed two songs -- Mati and Cholonbiler pakhi (also from the mixed album Adda). The next performer to come on stage was Beauty, popular for her rendition of Lalon songs. She sang a number from her album Charondashi. The evening continued, coming to an end past midnight as each one of the 11 singers came on stage and entertained the audience with their soulful renditions of popular songs. Eminent personalities from the music industry, including Fahmida Nabi, and Nakib Khan, also attended the event.
