Paintings invited for Berger art competition

Paintings are invited from young artists for the 11th Berger Young Painters' Art Competition 2006, says a press release.

The organisers have increased the prize money of the competition this year. The first, second and third prizes now carry Tk 40,000, Tk 30,000 and Tk 25,000 respectively while 4th, 5th and 6th prize winners will receive Tk 20,000 each. The six award-winning paintings will be depicted in the Berger corporate calendar for the year 2007.

The theme of the competition is open, medium is oil paint and dimensions are 24"x24".

Only the citizens of Bangladesh aged between 18 and 35 are eligible to take part in the competition. For preliminary selection, participants must send a 5R colour photograph of the original painting along with a copy of SSC certificate, attested by a first class gazetted officer, and a colour photograph. One may submit more than one painting. All paintings should be properly framed upon submission.

The participant must write his/her name, names of father and mother and address at the back of the paining in block letters. In addition, the painter's name, bio-data and the painting's title must be submitted in English.

The deadline for submitting 5R colour photograph is September 3. Entries should reach the following address by mail: Shah Waliul Manzoor, Unitrend Limited, House # 70 (New), Road # 15/A (New), Dhanmondi, Dhaka-1209.

The six award-winning paintings will be treated as property of Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd.
