Woman shot dead, 10 hurt in Kishoreganj clash

An elderly woman was shot dead and 10 people were injured in a clash at Bahar Bali village in Bajitpur upazila in the district yesterday.Khod Banu, 50, wife of Tono Mia was killed on the spot when rivals allegedly led by Chunnu Mia of the village attacked several houses with firearms. Critically injured nine persons including a woman were admitted to Zahirul Islam Medical College and Hospital at Bajitpur. The body of Khod Banu was taken to Kishoreganj Sadar Adhonik Hospital for postmortem, police said. Police and eye witnesses said the clash was sequel to a previous enmity between two groups in the village.
