Citigroup named 'Best Investment Bank in Asia'
Global Finance magazine, one of the world's leading finance magazines, has chosen Citigroup, the owning company of Citibank NA, as Asia's best investment bank, says a press release. The award was decided by Global Finance's editors and input from analysts and industry experts. Deals announced or completed for the last three quarters of 2005 and the first quarter of 2006 were considered. The winners of the awards will be honoured at an awards ceremony in New York on June 21. "This is great recognition for all the hard work the team has put in. We are delighted to receive this recognition from Global Finance magazine," said Mark Renton, managing director and head of Investment Banking Asia Pacific for Citigroup. In the awards, Citigroup also picked up best global investment bank, best investment bank in North America, best investment bank in the US and best M&A bank for Central and Eastern Europe. "We have identified the banks that the best companies should choose as their partners to get financings and acquisitions done,' said Global Finance publisher Joseph D. Giarraputo. Global Finance has over 50,000 subscribers in 158 countries.
