4 DU students expelled

Dhaka University (DU) authorities temporarily expelled four DU students, also activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), yesterday for their involvement in an intra-party clash between Ziaur Rahman Hall and Suryasen Hall.

A five-member probe committee, headed by Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof AFM Yusuf Haider, made the decision after interviewing students, JCD activists and leaders.

The expelled students are Toriqul Islam Torique of first year of philosophy department, Tareq Mojumdar of economics department, Hafiz and Rokon.

Four of the expelled students are from Zia Hall, while Torique from Suryasen Hall.
