Free treatment for Kansat victims


Human rights organisations Bangladesh Institute of Human Rights (BIHR) and Bangladesh Rehabilitation Centre for Trauma Victims (BRCT) will provide treatment free of cost for the people who fell victim to police torture during Kansat movement.

This is the first-ever such initiative taken by some human rights organisations.

As part of the programme, a daylong Mobile Treatment Clinic will be set up at the Kansat High School ground today, sources said. The activities of the clinic will begin at 9:00am, said a BIHR press release.

Doctor SA Sagar, psychotherapist ASM Saiful Anwar, physiotherapist Mostafa Zaman Miraz, regional councillor Khan Md Rustom Ali, supervisor Iqbal Ahmed, BIHR area coordinator and TFT Rajshahi coordinator and journalist Jahangir Alam Akash will run the clinic.
