In Dinajpur, the JMB in a letter on Monday threatened to bomb and kill Additional District and Sessions Judge M Ali Ahmed Badal.

The threat given in the name of JMB Thakugaon region created panic in the court area.

The letter warned that Judge Ali Ahmed Badal would meet the same fate as the two senior assistant judges of Jhalakathi--Sohel Ahmed and Jagannath Pandey--if he does not implement the rule of Allah instead of man-made laws. It also asked the judge to conduct the court proceedings properly.

Lawyers and judges there boycotted the courts yesterday to protest the killings in the court bombings in Gazipur and Chittagong. Lawyers and general people brought out a big protest march in the town in the afternoon.

Dinajpur District Bar Association General Secretary Nurul Islam said the lawyers boycotted the courts since the t JMB continued its attacks on lawyers and judges.

The authorities have tightened security at the court and other places in Dinajpur town. The police searched the court but found nothing.

In Mymensingh, the banned militant group in a letter yesterday threatened to kill district Bar Association president Moslem Uddin while the lawyers were protesting the day's bomb attacks in Chittagong and Gazipur.

The police said Moslem Uddin received the letter issued in the name of 'JMB and Ja:Muda:Fu, Mymensingh' yesterday noon. The bar leaders informed the mater to the police and demanded of the local administration foolproof security at the court premises.

On Sunday, the JMB also threatened to kill the district judges and local journalists and to blow up the press club by bomb attacks.
