Babar visits shopping malls to check law, order

State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfozzaman Babar yesterday visited Eastern Plaza at Hatirpool, Metro Shopping Mall at Dhanmondi and Bashundhara Shopping City at Panthapath.

During the visit, he exchanged views with the traders and the people who thronged the markets for last minute Eid shopping.

The traders thanked the state minister for providing adequate security to keep the markets free from extortion and mugging on the eve of Eid. The shoppers also expressed their satisfaction over the law and order situation at the markets.

Later, Babar visited Kamalapur Railway Station and Syedabad bus terminal to inquire about the problems faced by the home- bound passengers.

Inspector General of Police (IGP), director general of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), leaders of the Shop Owners Association and senior officials of the law enforcement agencies were present.
