Remittance up 30pc in 2 months
The remittance inflow in the first two months of the current fiscal year has seen a 30 percent rise over the corresponding months of the last fiscal year.
Remittance worth $728.04 million flowed in July-August period of this fiscal year while the amount stood at $558.35 million during the same period of the last fiscal.
Remittance also increased by eight percent in the second month of the current fiscal year from that of the first month -- from $ 349.77 million to $ 378.27 million.
The foreign exchange reserve also witnessed a rise due to the upward trend in remittance flow. On August 23 the reserve was $ 2.89 billion while it stood at $ 2.94 billion yesterday.
