People want to get rid of misrule: B Chy

Chairman of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury yesterday said the people, frustrated with the four-party alliance government, now want to get rid of its misrule.

Ignoring the country's interest, some corrupt politicians are accumulating a huge amount of money and sending those abroad, he said, adding that these politicians never tried to improve the living standard of the general people.

Badruddoza was addressing as the chief guest a discussion on 'Role of paramedics in the rural area', organised by the BDB at its party office in the city.

He called for reintroduction of paramedical training courses across the country to ensure healthcare for the rural people who do not have easy access to the MBBS doctors.

Paramedics can play a vital role in ensuring treatment for the villagers, he added.

Badruddoza also called on the paramedics to set up such training centres across the country.

At the meeting, the leaders of Bangladesh Palli Chikitsak Society, an organisation of the paramedics, demanded resumption of the paramedical training course project, which was closed in 1982 for unknown reasons.

BDB leaders Maj. Gen. (Retd.) AM Halim, Firoz M Hasan, Shahadat Hossain and Khaled Hossain, and Palli Chikitsak Society leaders Giasuddin Chowdhury, Md Ishaq Sikdar Bachchu and Moslehuddin Mohsin also spoke.
