10 criminals held, two stolen bikes recovered in Ctg

Police in separate drives arrested 10 criminals and recovered two stolen bikes from their possessions in the city in last three days. Detective Branch (DB) police held four muggers from Dewanhat area under Double Mooring thana on Saturday noon. Aboard a CNG-run autorickshaw, they were preparing for mugging when the DB patrol team held them after a long chase. The arrestees are Md Zahid alias Ledaiya, 20, Md Abu Saleq, 18, Md Yusuf, 25, and driver Md Liton Sheikh, 22. In another raid, Chandgaon thana police arrested a listed criminal from Gasiyapara in the morning. Md Ismail, 35, is an accused in three criminal cases. Karnaphuli thana police arrested an alleged robber Md Yusuf, 38, from Shikalbaha. On Thursday night, Double Mooring thana police held one Nakib Latif alias Rakib, 22, from Muhuripara and recovered a stolen motor-cycle from his possession. They also held another member of an organised gang of motorbike thieves Md Ramzan alias Ranju, 30, from Kadamtali area. In another drive, police nabbed one Bakhtiar Mahmud Chowdhury, 25, from Agrabad Access Road and recovered a stolen motorbike on the same night. Double Mooring police also arrested a listed criminal Ali Hossain alias Ailya, 32, from Pashchim Madarbari on Friday. He is an accused in eight cases.
