S Asian Games in April 2006

The 10th South Asian Games, the biggest sports carnival of the region, will be held in Sri Lanka over April 18-28 next year.Hockey has been included for the first in the event that will be held over 11 days and feature 20 disciplines. Besides, the hosts seven other South Asian countries will participate. The new date was set in the 34th executive committee meeting of the South Asian Olympic Council (SAOC) on June 23 at a Colombo hotel with its president Hemasiri Fernando in the chair.
