Prepare for supreme sacrifice for nation

Summer Graduation Parade marking the commissioning of No 51 GD(P) and No 3, 4 and 6 Special Engineering Courses of the Bangladesh Air Force was held at the BAF Academy Parade Square in Jessore yesterday, says an ISPR press release.
Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Fakhrul Azam attended the ceremony as chief guest. He reviewed the smartly turn-out parade and took salute at the impressive march past. He handed over awards, certificates and flying badges among the Flight Cadets. Two officers of Bangladesh Navy, who have completed basic flying training in PT-6 aircraft, have also been awarded with Flying Badges in the function.
Flight Cadet Sergeant Khaled Mosharraf was presented with the coveted 'Sword of Honour' for the best all round performance. He also got Commandant's Trophy for the best performance in general service training and Osmani Gold Medal for the best performance in academic training.
Meanwhile, the Number Two Squadron was adjudged the Champion Squadron and was given Academy Colour.
Chief of the Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Fakhrul Azam said "From this day great task of safeguarding independence and sovereignty of our beloved motherland is imposed on you."
Air chief said this while he was addressing the newly-commissioned officers.
He also asked them to remain always prepared for supreme sacrifice for the cause of the nation.
The Air Chief said that Bangladesh Air Force is now well-organised and effective force and newly commissioned officers should sustain this development process by their sincere and untiring efforts.
He expressed his firm conviction said that the newly-commissioned officers would build up them as the worthily sons of the soil through life long endeavor for searching truth and beauty.
A total of 17 Flight Cadets, including 06 of Special Engineering Courses, were commissioned this time.
Flight Cadet Wing Under Officer Md Rafiqul Islam commanded the parade which was followed by a spectacular fly past of different BAF aircraft.
Earlier, on his arrival at the parade square Chief of the Air Staff was received by Base Commander of the local Base Group Captain Masihuzzaman Serniabat.
