Race in the 21st Century

The Race in the 21st Century Conference continued from April 6 -8, 2005.As we had mentioned earlier , there were many interesting topics presented by academic and social leaders on the issues of race and culture. We would like to mention the following writers and historical leaders. We would like to stress that like every other topic, the topic on race and culture also presents good and evil, negative and positive and the issues of race, culture, prejudice and religious bigotry. The social dilemma of issues on race is that imperialism, colonialism, and invasion of other cultures has taken place for centuries. "I understand how the study of race and culture relates to this sense of cultural superiority, colonialism, neo-colonialism and cultural hegemony. I would like to present one particular idea about this power play; I see Satan as one of the first symbols of superiority. I see how religion, culture and politics become a power play with war like tendencies, technology and environmental pollution and destruction. I wish that all leaders will be striving and fighting for peace, freedom and harmony" (Estelle). We would like to mention that there are leaders like Frank Wu and Manning Marable. In this conclusion, we would like to mention the following:

there are leaders like Frank Wu and Gloria Anzaldua, and both agree that biological or anthropological studies show that we have thousands of years of genealogies and that race is a mixture of many factors. Manning Marable mentioned mass inequality and mass disenfranchisement. Examples of oppression of the poor , homeless and discrimination of women, races and children range from Hitler, Mussolini and Protestants oppressed by Catholics in history.

Del Re mentions that the act of scalping was invented by the Dutch and not by the Native Americans (Page 172). Sam Keen in The Quest for Justice says that by contrast to "hate", the spiritual quest carries us beyond normality, ego and tribal identity. Spirited men and women have a transmoral conscience to expand the circle of communion to include outsiders, strangers and enemies. Deepak Chopra said to think about collateral and not to demonise the "enemy". Sam Keen says that spirituality should make us more radical, (radically moral) and not more conformist critics of society. We must continue fighting for freedom and human rights because it is the duty of the human soul or the human spirit.
