PM inaugurates Jhenidah Polytech Inst


Prime Minister Khaleda Zia yesterday inaugurated Jhenidah Polytechnic Institute and several other institutions in the southwestern frontier district.

The polytechnic institute project involves a cost of Tk 16 crore.

The institute with 4 courses--civil engineering, environment, computer and electronics--starts its journey from this year.

On her daylong trip to Jhenidah, the Prime Minister also unveiled the plaque of foundation stone of Jhenidah 25-bed children's hospital, which involves Tk 5.50 crore.

Khaleda also unveiled the plaque of the foundation stone of Jhenidah Nursing Institute, which costs over Tk 6 crore.

She later gave the go to extension work on Harinakunda Hospital in Harinakunda upazila before addressing a public meeting in the upazila headquarters in the afternoon.
