Sources yesterday said the IOC team is coming to Bangladesh as part of its mission to the Indian Ocean region. The team will assess the needs of individual littoral nations to help them install early warning system for Tsunami.

The decision of the team's visit came at the just concluded second international meeting on development of early warning systems for Tsunami for the Indian Ocean region on a global framework.

Mauritius hosted the meeting on April 14-16 as a follow-up of the Paris meet on March 3-8 held under the auspices of the Unesco and IOC.
