Partha Protim Majumdar

Internationally reputed pantomime artiste Partha Pratim Majumdar is now in Dhaka. The repatriate Bangladeshi artiste has made good in Paris, the city famous for art and culture.

After a long interval, Partha has come to his motherland. To felicitate the reputed artiste, Prajanma Ekattur, a Sweden based quarterly magazine published by the Bangladeshis living in Sweden, arranged a reception at hotel La Luna recently.

Renowned personalities Air Vice Martial (retd.) AK Khondoker, Professor Momtazuddin Ahmed, Dr. Atiur Rahman, Jewel Aich, Pijush Bandyopadhyay and others were present at the reception.

Reacting to the honour, Partha said, "I have already received many receptions at the international level from India, UK and others. But, I have never felt so proud as I am to get this honour in my homeland."

Partha has a clear goal: to establish an institute for pantomime in Bangladesh. This, he believes will enable him to teach here, as he does in Paris.
