MSC-Biman vital game today
Mohammedan Sporting Club will be back to full strength when they meet Bangladesh Biman in a vital seventh round match of the Green Delta Premier Division Cricket League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today.
The mid-table teams got off to fine starts, but last year's runners-up Mohammedan, having won their first three matches, lost the next three to slump to the seventh place on the 12-team table.
One of the strongest teams on paper, Mohammedan, however, missed the services of four key players -- captain Habibul Bashar, Mashrafee-Bin-Mortuza, Moha-mmad Rafique and Nafees Iqbal -- who were on national duty.
The black and whites also played their last match without Steve Tikolo but the Kenyan ace have returned to Dhaka to join the four national cricketers for the crucial match.
Biman, who also won three games at the start, have suffered two defeats and are now sixth with eight points, two above Mohammedan. Their squad will also be strengthened with the returns of national team's Mohammad Ashraful, who smashed an unbeaten 158 against India in the second Test in Chittagong, and all-rounder Mushfiqur Rahman.
In the day's other games, Old DOHS will be looking forward to joining Victoria at the top of the table with a win against surprise package Agrani Bank at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium while City Club are pitted against Orient Sporting Club at the Fatullah Cricket Stadium.
