Abahani fly in Dharmasena
Sri Lanka international Kumar Dharmasena arrived in Dhaka yesterday to play for Abahani in the ongoing Premier Cricket League.
The off-spinner, who has previously played for Mohammedan Sporting Club in the Dhaka domestic cricket, will replace Abahani's Pakistani opener Taufeeq Umar.
The out-of-form Umar will be busy playing domestic cricket in his country and might not return.
Dharmasena, also a useful lower-order bat, completed his registration yesterday and will take the field in Abahani's sixth round match against Orient Sporting Club tomorrow.
Mohammedan, on the other hand, are expected to field Karnataka's young batsman Arun Jagdish in their crucial game against Old DOHS tomorrow. Jagdish, due to reach the capital today, will replace Kenyan Steve Tikolo who went back home after playing five league matches.
The Motijheel outfit have decided to bring Jagdish, an Indian under-19 international, for a brief period as they are waiting for Himachal Pradesh captain Sandeep Sharma, who will not be available before December 27.
