Cotton godown gutted in Narsingdi

A cotton godown of Pakiza Spinning Mills was gutted in a devastating fire at Bhagiratpur in Sadar upazila yesterday.The fire, which started at about 9:30 am, destroyed about 500 bales of cotton, mill sources said. The loss was estimated at about Tk 50 lakh. Fire fighters from Narsingdi, Ghorashal, Bhairab and Demra brought the blaze under control after an struggle for one and a half hours. A fire fighter was also injured while extinguishing the blaze.
