On Sunday, price of a gas cylinder was Tk 550 in the morning while at noon it was sold at Tk 570 and at night its price rose to Tk 600, according to Siddique, a vendor in the college gate area.

On Monday, the same cylinder was sold at Tk 620, according to consumers.

As many as 1,000 town dwellers use LP gas for domestic purpose in the town.

Some dealers this correspondent talk to claimed that gas cylinders were not supplied to the hill district in the last three days. But other sources said dealers' depots were full of cylinders.
