Jamaat activist held on charge of rape
Police arrested a Jamaat activist from his residence at Shaikhpara on charge of raping a woman.
The arrestee was identified as Selim Reza,38, an activist of Sonadanga thana unit of Jamaat.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Reza raped the woman when she went to his residence to bring a pitcher of drinking water at 7:30pm on Saturday.
Reza was sent to district jail yesterday. He was arrested under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
