Sharmila dons a new role

Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore was appointed Censor Board chief by the government of Indian. She replaced eminent actor Anupam Kher.
Fifty eight-year-old Sharmila Tagore, who had made her movie debut at the age of 14 in master director Satyajit Ray's Apur Sansar in 1959, assumed charge in New Delhi on Wednesday, an official announcement said.The board chief's post is honorary in nature.
Becoming head of the Censor Board is a new and challenging role for Sharmila Tagore. The acting career of Sharmila spans over three decades, during which she has acted with equal elan in films of Ray as well as Bollywood's commercial movies. Among her Ray films are Nayak opposite legendary Uttam Kumar, Seemabaddha and Aranyer Din Ratri.
Sharmila Tagore married former Indian cricket captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi in 1970 and the couple has two childrenactor Saif Ali Khan and newcomer actress Soha Ali Khan.
