Financial sector reforms on track: IMF

Reforms in financial sector are on track under the Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility (PRGF), said the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the first stage of its third review of the PRGF programmes yesterday.

Missanke Weerasinghe made this observation to reporters after he led a six-member IMF delegation that met Finance Minister M Saifur Rahman at his ministry office yesterday to discuss financial sector reforms under the PRGF.

The IMF team started their review of the PRGF in Bangladesh on October 10 and is expected to complete the review by October 23.
