490 killed in 10 SW dists in six months

At least 490 people were killed by the extremists in 10 southwestern districts in last six months.

Of them, 103 people were killed in Khulna, 70 in Bagherhat, 62 in Jessore, 72 in Kushtia, 63 in Chuadanga, 55 in Jhenidah, 21 in Satkhira, 17 in Narail, 15 in Magura and 12 in Meherpur, sources said.

The people of the region have been passing their days in great panic, as the extremists are active even in rural areas.

Some outlawed party activists were also killed in internal clashes and in gunfire with police in different parts of the Khulna Division, sources added.

Police said they have arrested a number of extremists in raids.
