Tk 30 lakh cell phone sets seized at ZIA

Customs intelligence at Zia International Airport (ZIA) yesterday seized mobile phone sets reportedly worth over Tk 30 lakh from an incoming passenger.Tipped off, customs officials challenged Mohammad Yusuf who arrived at the ZIA from Qatar in a Qatar Airways flight (No. 344) in the morning. Yusuf declared he had only some compact disks in his baggage, an official said. Customs officials scanned his suitcase and found 500 cell phone sets, he added.
