President, PM condole Reagan's death


President Iajuddin Ahmed and Prime Minister Khaleda Zia yesterday expressed their deep shock at the death of former US president Ronald Reagan.

In a condolence message to US President George W Bush, Iajuddin said many in Bangladesh and around the world would remember the former US president for his 'great qualities of communication'.

"The legacy of his strong leadership will be felt around the world for a long time," he added.

Recalling Reagan's leadership role in leading America to face the challenges in national and international arena, Khaleda in a separate letter to Bush said Reagan will be remembered for his success in shaping important policies with long term implications for his country and also for the world.

Both the president and the prime minister requested the US president to convey their sympathy and condolence to the bereaved family and American people.
