Rejoinder and our reply
Kazi Air International (Pvt) Limited, Pan Bright Travels (Pvt) Limited and Versatile Travels and Tours Limited have protested a news item carried by The Daily Star on May 16 under the headline "Hajis cheated out of Tk 2 crore", claiming they were never involved in Hajj ticket sales in Umrah group category.

Terming the report as 'false and baseless' in separate letters, the agencies alleged the news caused harm to their good reputation in business.

Our reply

After alleged irregularities in Hajj ticket sales, Bangladesh Biman launched a probe and found that the three travel agencies were involved in Hajj ticket sales in Umrah group category.

The Biman probe committee, which submits its full report on May 31, detected anomalies involving Tk 13.5 lakh against Kazi Air International (Pvt) Limited on the first day of its findings.
