Disgusting ethics

After subjecting Iraqis to criminal sanctions for more than a decade, the consequence of which led to the death of half a million children then invading Iraq, destroying property and infrastructure with countless, merciless bombardment, compounded by killing of several thousand innocent civilians, now the two pillars of western civilisation and modernity, the United States and the United Kingdom, are shedding tears (!) on the shocking despicable behaviour of their troops.

But the mask of western values has been completed exposed. If Blair and Bush want the rest of the world to believe they are truly distressed and concerned because the soldiers they sent to liberate Iraq of an evil administration and not for the purpose of : oil extraction, strategic land for military bases, tax-free business by UK and US companies, a foothold for new robberies in other Middle Eastern countries and so on, then they must be prepared to take some action .

The commander-in-chief - the guy in charge of the military that was running the Abu Gharib detention facility in Baghdad-- should hold the big guys on the higher ups who make the policies accountable. But it seems the little guys will be fed to the dogs. The history of the infamous massacre in Vietnam is being repeated and the big guys will go scot-free to pursue new techniques in terror practice. One should not forget that torture destroys not only the tortured, but also corrupts the society.

Torturing prisoners of war is a direct violation not only human rights but the Geneva Convention on Treatment of Prisoners of War, of which the United States is a Signatory. What kind of western secular values are those which permit the destruction of a country in the name of liberation and democracy, what is the use of the United Nations Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights when they just mean death and plunder of non-western people?
