Racism in a different form?

I have a very delicate case here, so please be careful. Someone once froze me by asking a very awkward question. He said, when a white person calls us black, we object to it and say he/she is a racist. But then, when we get married, everyone looks for a fair/forsha/shundori bride. Now, instead of calling the bridegroom a racist, every other member of the family seems to be even more obsessed with a white bride. Especially your young sister will say, "Kalo bhabi anle thumake shoho ghor theke ber kore debo bhaiya"! Your mother would go, "I will get the most beautiful girl for my shahzada. My daughter-in-law will beat every other newly wedded brides in the whole village"!! Now, the question asked by that person was: (Q1) How come none of us object to this, and isn't this racism? Please note, the question is not "why" you choose a beautiful bride. This is probably natural for all of us, including women (they also prefer handsome men and we men are aware of it, which is why we waste all that money buying outrageously expensive Armani suits and shave 8 days a week! And those Mithun-hair styles? Why else do you think we spend 45 minutes every morning with a hair-spray?). The question is about preference of white/pale colour (I warned you, it is very delicate).

So, take for example, twin sisters, equally educated, intelligent and for simplicity's sake, say, their personalities are also the same. The family background is obviously same. The only problem is, one is quite darker than the other. Now, (Q2): Given a choice, which one will you choose (do remember that your choice alone is not enough, you can only marry the girl who chooses you)? Gentlemen, when answering this question, at least be honest to yourself, if not with us.

As for my own answer to Q1, I haven't got an answer to this very difficult question. For Q2, I don't want to answer this question because I have a beautiful solution that can nicely avoid answering it (call me cheeky if you like)!

While you gentlemen ponder this, I am just going to sit back and imagine a perfect marriage with a perfect wife. Both of us are walking on clouds, catching stars, playing I-spy, pinching each other; and suddenly the wife asks me to get her some tentul achar! Would you believe this senseless creature? My perfect moment with a perfect wife is murdered by a humble object.
