Fixed phone in private sector

The BTRC has given the land-line telephone network licence to a private company. The state owned monopoly, the BTTB, has provided only 800,000 land phones. It is alleged that some 'extra' money has to be spent to get a connection from the BTTB and, more importantly, to keep it useable. The fixed phone in the private sector is indeed a good sign. It will help to increase the much needed tele-density. The VOIP has already got the nod. Now the BTRC should take some initiative to reduce the outrageous mobile call charges.
