Shikder left a palatial building, 'Swarnakamol', a luxurious building at Uttara in Dhaka and huge amount of money lying frozen in different banks in Dhaka, Khulna and elsewhere.

Shikder's first wife Khodeja,42, leads one group while the other group is being led by his second wife Sanjida Nahar Shova.

Khodeja's three sons, a daughter and Ershad's step brother Mahmud Azad Shikder are reportedly backing her. Shova is being backed by Shikder's elder brother Ashraf Ali Shikder and only sister Selina Begum.

'I shall see Khodeja for realising my legitimate right over my husband's wealth and property', Shova told this correspondent. She further alleged that she had been threatened by her step sons Jamal, Kamal and Helal.

When asked over telephone, Khodeja refuted the allegations of Shova.

'My three sons are being given death threats over telephone by Shova's relatives,' Khodeja alleged. 'I can not allow Shova to share Shikder's property and wealth as he did not tell me to do so during my last meeting with him at noon on May 10, Khodeja told this correspondent.

Shova said to this correspondent that her former husband had advised her to do every thing possible to realise her legal rights as his wife. 'I shall do everything to establish my rights if the dispute is not resolved amicably,' declared Shova who is now running a beauty parlour at Boyra to earn a living.

Shikder's only sister Selina Begum said to this correspondent, 'My brother has left property worth 100 crore taka and Shova has a legal right to inherit this property', she said who now lives in abject poverty with her children and disabled husband Iddris Sarder. She termed Khodaja as an unruly women of questionable character and 'responsible for the doom of Shikder'.

According to Ashraf Ali Shikder, 'Swarnakamol' was constructed in 1989 at a cost of 3.85 crore taka using marble stones, Italian tiles and costly fittings. Besides, in 1993 Ershad Shikder purchased a three-storied building at Uttara from a Bangladeshi expatriate in London at a cost of 7 crore taka. Shikder bought the house in the name of his first wife Khodaja, he disclosed.

Shikder left another ultra-modern building constructed over one bigha of land at a cost of over one crore taka at Rajapur in Rupsha upazila. Shikder also left three pieces of land each measuring 10 kathas at Sonadanga residential area, 11 shops on the Station Road, a hotel at Skid ghat and over 100 crore taka in different banks in Khulna and Dhaka, Ashraf Shikder added.
