Bomb scare at DU turns a hoax

Moviegoers at the Teacher Student Centre (TSC) auditorium of Dhaka University yesterday felt the chill down their spines from a bomb alarm, which was proved a hoax. An unknown caller phoned a member of Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS), which organised screening of the movie, over cell phone at about 4:00pm, triggering panic among the viewers, sources said. The spectators scurried out of the TSC gallery. Police reached there at about 4:30pm only to find it was a hoax, sources added. The DUFS organised the screening of Bangla movie 36 Chowrangi Lane as part of its week-long film festival, which started on May 11.
