OC dies in truck chase

AKM Muhiuddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of city's Motijheel Police Station, died of cardiac arrest after a chase against an errant truck in the early hours of yesterday.Police said Muhiuddin and his team chased a truck from Motijheel area up to Banani rail crossing where he seized the vehicle with the help of Tejgaon and Gulshan police at about 3:00am. "Shortly afterwards, he felt sick and collapsed on the ground, vomiting blood," police sources said. The OC was rushed to Samarita Hospital where the doctor declared him dead. In the morning, Muhiuddin's Namaj-e-Janaza was held at Razarbagh Police Lines. The body was sent to his residence in Chittagong.
