Drama serial Sharey Tin Tala hits a century

TV stars-turned-cricketers gather to celebrate their 100th episode

Krishnachura, a production house, recently organised a cricket match at the police line ground in Uttara. The occasion marked the 100th episode of the mega-serialSharey Tin Tala. The programme will be telecast on May 25 on Channel i.

At 10 a.m, the artistes and the technical crew went to the venue to play the friendly match where actor Shahiduzzaman Selim led the artistes' team while Amlan Biswas was the captain of the technical crew. Winning the toss, the artistes went to bat first.

In the 10-over match, the crew won the match by 7 wickets in 6 overs.

Female artistes as well as the family members and friends of the Sharey Tin Tala team were there to enjoy the match. Famous artistes like Zahid Hasan, Sharmili Ahmed, Rosy Siddiqui and others gave the commentary.

Losing the first match, the artistes demanded yet another match. After bargaining for a while with the other team they went to bat again. This time scoring 105 they won the match by 54 runs.

Senior artiste A T M Shamsuzza-man joked with the others, 'I used to play cricket with an original cricket ball. My mastery in cricket is obvious with the fact that I hit two wickets in just one over with the tennis ball!'

Captain of the artistes team Shahiduzzaman Selim said, 'In my student life I played for my department at the University. I always enjoy a game of cricket.'

The other members of the artistes' team were Khairul Alam Shobuj, Azad Abul Kalam, Intekhab Dinar, Pantha Shahriar and others.

One of the directors of the mega serial Amlan Biswas, the captain of the crew said, 'Since we won the scheduled match , I think, we should be declared as the winners.'

Organiser of the cricket match, Afsana Mimi, said, 'This was just a fun get-together. To celebrate the 100th episode we decided to play cricket, as we often play during leisure time and also between shootings.'

After the tiring match the team engaged in an adda. Sanjana Khan presented the title song of the mega serial, which added more amusement to their celebration.
