Monaco renew Lyon rivalry
Monaco's duel with two-time defending champions Lyon in the run-in to the French league title this season continues on Friday with both sides playing lowly opposition.
Monaco play fourth-from-bottom Guingamp while Lyon, four points behind the Principality club, meet sixth-from-bottom Ajaccio.
Both teams had identical scorelines in their last fixtures on Saturday with Monaco drawing 1-1 at Toulouse and Lyon at Lens.
Lyon coach Paul Le Guen will have to do without fullback Anthony Reveillere because of continued problems with his pulled right calf muscle.
Reveillere missed Lyon's last two matches at Lens and Real Sociedad where they won 1-0 in the Champions League last week.
Midfielder Vikash Dhorasoo, who pulled a thigh muscle against Lens, has returned to training and is expected to play but Brazilian central defender Claudio Cacapa's dodgy knee makes him unavailable.
Ajaccio will be bolstered by the return of former French internationals Bernard Diomede and Patrice Loko, from suspension and a thigh injury.
Didier Deschamps' Monaco have had a boost with the news that Guingamp's Ivory Coast central defender Blaise Kouassi is suspended and striker Cedric Bardon is out with a knee problem.
Monaco's Ludovic Giuly, recovering from broken bone in his foot, and Sebastien Squillaci, who has a muscle tear, might not yet be fully fit to be included in the first team.
The big fixture of the weekend is third-placed Paris Saint Germain's match with League Cup finalists Sochaux at the Parc des Princes on Saturday which will have a large bearing on Champions League places next term.
Sochaux, fourth in the league, fought out a goalless draw at Inter Milan on Wednesday but went out on the away goals rule.
