Robbery at Uttara

Robbers entered a house in Uttara pressing the doorbell and looted valuables worth Tk 2.87 lakh yesterday.

A gang of about seven youths pressed the doorbell of the first floor residence at Road # 14, Sector # 4 at around 8:30am, said landlord Hasan Fazle Halim.

"As my domestic help Hasna opened the door, the robbers equipped with firearms, chapati, dagger and axe forced into my house. They taped her mouth and confined her to an adjacent room," Halim said in the first information report.

The gang also assaulted Halim's mother as she refused to hand them over keys of lockers, said police.

The robbers took away gold ornaments, wristwatches and other valuables worth about Tk 2.87 lakh.
