New committee of Juri Valley Tea Labourers' Union
A new committee of Tea Labourers' Union, Juri valley was elected for two-year term in the union's biennial conference held at Dhanai tea garden puja mandop recently.
The office-bearers are: President-Gopal Chowre (Dhamri tea garden, Executive President: Poresh Bunarjee (Rajkee tea garden), Vice President: Larmi Prashad Kurmi (New Samanbhag tea garden), Secretary: Murolidhar Guala (Cleavdon tea garden), Assistant Secretary: Ananta Bunarjee (Rajkee tea garden), Members: Biddadhar Chasha, Sunil Banerjee, Brindabon Bunarjee, Jagarboti Teli and Rina bai Panika.
Presided over by labour leader Gopal Chowre, the conference was attended by M A Matin Khan, General Manager of New Samanbhag Phatharia Tea Estate and Circle chairman of Juri valley circle of Bangladeshieyo Cha Sangsad (BCS) as chief guests. M A Mumit, chairman of West Juri Union Parishad (UP), Tapan Kumar Chakravartee, manager of the tea garden and Sagor Patnayek, a leader of the valley branch attended as special guests.
Worker representatives from 19 tea gardens were present in the conference.
