Youth gunned down at Sobhanbagh

Unknown criminals gunned down an unidentified young man at Sobhanbagh in Mohammadpur last night.

Two bullets hit the youth, aged about 30, in the head and abdomen, killing him on the spot. Police could not identify the man immediately.

Police said three young men were gossiping in a lane near Prince Plaza. "At one stage, they locked in an altercation and two of them shot the other one point blank," officer-in-charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station Abdul Malek said quoting witnesses.

Locals told police that the three young men were strangers in the area. The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police could not arrest anyone for the murder till 10:30 last night.
