The latest addition to these types of amusement spots after Shishu Park, Shishu Mela, Wonderland and Fantasy Kingdom is Nandan Park.

"We have established Nandan Park near Chandra away from the city so that city people can enjoy an outing and spend the whole day at a place full of fun," said Muhammad Asif Hasan, the head of marketing of Nandan.

Nandan Park is a 40-km drive away from Motijheel. The park is located on 62 bighas land and there is space for 750 cars to be parked at the same time.

"For the city dweller's convenience we have arranged buses plying along two routes from the city to the park. BRTC buses makes a trip every 10 minutes from Motijheel to Nandan Park at Chandra via Shahbag, Farmgate, Asadgate, Gabtoli, Nabinagar while Moonlight plies from Gulistan to Nandan Park via Mohakhali, Tongi, Ashulia. The bus fare per person is Tk.30 from Motijheeel to Nandan Park," said the head of marketing.

The items and rides of Nandan Park have been made in a manner convenient and enjoyable to ages ranging from one to 60.

As the park management did not wish to disappoint fun lovers if they were to see items common to most amusement parks, they were selective in the installation of various new items thus ensuring pleasure for all.

The park is open from 11 am to 9 pm. The entrance fare is Tk.50 per person and highest rate for participation per ride is Tk.30. Among the interesting items Water Coaster, Cable Car, Iceland, Musical Fountain, Paddle Boat were found more crowded than others. There is also a picnic corner within the area for the picnic lovers.

"More than a thousand people is visit this park everyday," said Asif, "and on the holidays the crowds increase."

City dwellers take the trip to the park for various reasons. "We have come on a long drive and this park has facilities for all sorts of people and for all ages and makes a complete outing," said a visitor.
