Police said the victim was identified as Josna Begum, 18, wife of Kamal Mirdha of the same village.

Victim's family sources said Kamal Mirdha married to Josna nine months ago and used to torture her for dowry. She was three months' pregnant.

Neighbours said Kamal beat Josna to death on Saturday.

Afterwards, the victim's husband and in-laws hanged the body from a ceiling bar.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Rajbari Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
