PDB to implement 40 power projects worth Tk 1,500cr

The Power Development Board (PDB) will implement 40 development projects, involving over Tk 1,500 crore, to improve the power supply situation.

This was disclosed yesterday at a meeting on the PDB's annual development programmes with State Minister for Power Iqbal Hasan Mahmud in the chair.

The ongoing projects for which allocations have been made are Boropukuria 300-megawatt coal-based power project, 210-megawatt Shiddhirganj Power Station, 450-megawatt Meghna Ghat Power Station (phase 1), Baghabari 100-megawatt Gas Turbine Power Station, Sylhet 90-megawatt Combine Cycle Power Station (second phase), Tongi 80-megawatt Gas Turbine Power Station and Chandpur 150-megawatt Power Station.
