Huge Indian goods seized in Khulna

Taskforce on Thursday seized Indian goods worth about Tk 10 crore from five godowns at Daulatpur for evading customs duty.

According to police, members of the Taskforce raided the godowns of Punom Enterprise in the afternoon and seized crockeries and other electronic goods.

Taskforce sources said the importer took delivery of the consignment without paying customs duty and VAT.

The importer refuted the allegation saying that he got clearance from the customs only after paying duty and VAT.
