2 housewives murdered in two dists
Two housewives were murdered in Thakurgaon and Jessore districts yesterday.
In Thakurgaon, police recovered the body of a woman from the ring slab of a latrine in Art-gallery area of the town.
The deceased was identified as Rupa, 35, wife of Md Alam, 40, of the area, reports our correspondent.
AKM Mehedi Hasan, officer-in-charge of Thakurgaon Police Station, said Rupa, daughter of Asir Uddin of Joleswarytola in the area, married Alam, son of Diprohori, last year.
After the marriage, Alam often tortured Rupa over trivial matters. On Saturday, Rupa went to her father's house following a family feud with Alam.
Alam then brought her to his house from there on Sunday and since then Rupa's family could not contact her.
On suspicion, her brother Sujan visited Alam's house yesterday and found the door locked from inside.
Sujan informed the police about the matter. The law enforcers went to the spot and recovered her body from the ring slab of the house's latrine.
Alam along with his family members went into hiding after the incident, said the OC.
