2 Dinajpur cops hurt in bomb attack by robbers
Two policemen sustained splinter injuries when robbers hurled three crude bombs targeting law enforcers at a local railway station in Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur this morning.
The injured sub-inspectors of Parbatipur Police Station -- Md Sadeque and Md Manik -- were whisked off to the upazila health complex, reports our Dinajpur correspondent.
Meanwhile, police arrested three robbers -- Md Rezaul Karim, 45, Md Raridul Islam, 26, and Forhad Hossain, 22, from the scene.
A gang of robbers stormed into a house of one Md Abul Hossain at Uttar Salandar-Kherupara village around 3:30am and looted valuables worth Tk 1 lakh, said Md Nasir Uddin Mondal, officer-in-charge of Parbatipur Police Station.
Police launched a raid at Monmathpur Railway Station when they came to know that the robbers went to the station after committing the robbery.
As soon as police reached the station around 6:30am, the robbers hurled at least three handmade bombs targeting the law enforcers leaving the two police officers injured, the OC said.
The law enforcers managed to arrest the three robbers from the scene while the others went into hiding.
