11 held for Trishal JMB operation

Detectives detained 11 people for their alleged involvement in the snatching three militants of banned outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh.
The detectives also seized seven firearms, four and a half kilograms of explosives and a motorbike from their possession, said Abu Yususf, assistant commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Of the detainees, two were held for donating money to snatch the three JMB members.
The seized motorbike was used during the operation, said Yusuf.

Detective Branch of police detained the 11 people from different places at different dates.
The details about the detainees will be known after a press briefing to be held at DMP media centre later in the day.
20 days ago, an armed gang ambushed a prison van and snatched away three convicted JMB militants in a well-orchestrated plan.
A police constable was killed as the gang of 10-15, all masked, opened fire and hurled crude bombs at the prison van at Signboard point of Aminabari area of the upazila on February 23.
The snatched convicts are Rakib Hasan Russell alias Hafez Mahmud, Salauddin Ahmed alias Salehin and Zahidul Islam alias "Boma" Mizan. Rakib and Salauddin were sentenced to death and "Boma" Mizan to 37 years in prison in different cases.
