11 boys return home from Indian jail
Eleven Bangladeshi boys returned home through Hili Land Port in Hakimpur upazila yesterday on expiry of their jail terms in India.
The boys are Bilash Mardi, 12, of Rajshahi, Hasibul Hasan, 16, of Natore, Abu Kawsar, 18, of Brahmanbaria, Akash Rahman, 11, and Shawan Ahmed, 12, of Dhaka, Hamidul Islam, 18, Rabiul Islam, 11, of Dinajpur, Md Junayed, 12, of Chittagong, Md Rubel, 15, of Sunamganj, Md Sumon, 18, of Kurigram and Sohel Sheikh, 14, of Bogra district.
A BGB official of Joypurhat 3 Battalion said, the boys illegally entered India through different borders at different times between 2012 and 14.
Later, Indian Border Security Force (BSF) caught the 11 and handed them over to Indian police who produced them before the courts which jailed them for the offernce.
They were kept at, a juvenile home in Balurghat of Pashchimbanga.
