10kg gold seized at Dhaka airport
Customs intelligence officials arrested a man and recovered gold bars weighing around 10kg from his possession at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka this evening.
Mostafizur Rahman, deputy director of customs intelligence at the airport, told The Daily Star that the gold bars were recovered from a passenger after searching his body when he was crossing the green channel of the airport at about 8:20pm.
He reached the airport from Dubai by a flight of Emirates Airlines around 7:40pm.
“Search is still going on as we have information that other passengers of the flight are also possessing gold bars illegally,” the official said.
