Zubair murder verdict Feb 4
A Dhaka court will deliver its verdict in Jahangirnagar University student Zubair Ahmed murder case on February 4.
On completion of the arguments from the prosecution and defence, Judge ABM Nizamul Haque of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 fixed the date for the delivery of the judgment.
The court also cancelled the bail of seven, out of 13, accused and sent them to jail while the rest went into hiding.
Earlier, the court recorded statements of 21 prosecution witnesses including complainant of the case.
Zubair Ahmed, an honours final year student of English, was tortured and stabbed allegedly by some activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League on January 8, 2012. He succumbed to his injuries in a Dhaka hospital on the following day.
Hamidur Rahman, former deputy registrar of the JU, filed the murder case with Ashulia Police Station on the same day.
A court framed charges against 13 BCL men in the case on September 8 last year.
